HELLO, I'M
Prof. Bausley
Adjunct Professor & Learning Facilitator.
About
MY TEACHING APPROACH
I believe that learning is most effective when students engage in active, experiential learning. A successful learning environment is one in which students are involved in the thought process, participating in discussions, and fully immersing themselves in the material. Mastery is achieved when students can navigate problem-solving tasks and express their understanding effectively.

As a Curriculum Manager, I have the unique opportunity to shape the educational experience by ensuring that the curriculum is comprehensive, engaging, and responsive to student needs. This hands-on role informs my teaching philosophy, allowing me to implement innovative approaches and strategies that enhance learning outcomes.
Central to my teaching approach is fostering critical thinking. I believe learning is most powerful when students engage in meaningful conversations with their peers, learning from one another in a collaborative environment. I see my role as a facilitator of learning, guiding students toward knowledge while also coaching them to draw from their experiences and share insights.

Assessment plays a crucial role in my teaching philosophy. I believe students demonstrate their understanding through a variety of activities. True comprehension is reflected in the ability to articulate ideas clearly, so my assessments focus on evaluating students' ability to apply knowledge through writing, inquiry, organization, collaboration, and critical reading.
My goals for students are twofold: achieving mastery of the content through evidence-based learning and developing strong critical thinking skills. To accomplish these, I emphasize daily writing exercises to ensure comprehension, inquiry-based learning to foster critical thinking, collaborative activities to expose students to diverse perspectives, and critical reading to engage students with the material.

In addition to academic achievement, I aim to mentor students in their personal and academic growth. I believe that education is a holistic process, nurturing not just intellectual growth but also personal and social well-being.
